Policy
Surrey College is committed to enrolling students who meet all
of our program admission criteria and who are likely to succeed
in meeting their education and career goals.
Procedure
- All inquiries are referred to the Education Centre clerks.
- Prospective students are given a student information package.
Clerks will review the admission criteria for the program with
the student to ensure that he/she meets all the criteria.
- If deemed necessary, a student may be asked to write an English
placement exam.
- The Education Centre Clerk obtains evidence (eg. Transcript,
proof of age, etc) from the student that he/she meets all of the
program's admission criteria and places the evidence in the student
file.
- Prospective students are told to read all the student-related
policies on the Surrey College website: http://www.surreycollege.ca.
- After receiving evidence that the prospective student meets
all of the admission criteria, the prospective student completes
a Student Enrolment Contract and the Education Centre Clerk reviews
the contract with the prospective student.
- The prospective student detemrines how they will pay their tuition.
If the prospective student understands their rights and responsibilities,
the student signs the contract. The Principal will then sign the
contract.
- The student will pay a $80.00 non-refundable application fee.
- The Education Centre clerk will then prepare an acceptance letter.
The acceptance letter along with a copy of the Enrolment Contract
is mailed to the student.
- All students are given a student handbook (which contains all
the College policies as well) at their first class.
- Each student will have a permanent record on file at Surrey
College.
- It is the responsibility of the student to supply the Surrey
College office with notice of change of contact infromation such
as: address, phone number, email, etc. The infromation is required
for sending out student documents.
Admission Requirements
Surrey College will consider applications from any eligible candidates;
however, admission to specific programs or courses may be restricted
by space limitations or pre-requisite requirements.
In situations where the number of qualified applicants exceeds
